EOCO and Korean Embassy Strengthen Ties to Combat Economic and Organised Crime

On July 17, 2024, the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office-(EOCO), Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, welcomed Kim Jin Gyun, Consul (Police Attaché) of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, to the Economic and Organised Crime Office. 


The visit aimed to foster a close working relationship between EOCO and the Korean Embassy in Accra, and to address matters of mutual interest as far as economic and financial crimes are concerned.  Maame Tiwaa Addo-Danquah expressed her gratitude for the visit and emphasized the importance of collaboration in fighting crime. She also reiterated that, EOCO would continue to play an active role in the fight against economic and financial crimes at both domestic and international levels.  Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working together to combat crime to ensure the safety and security of citizens in both countries.


Present at the meeting were the two deputy directors of EOCO; Mr. Bashiru Dapilah, Deputy Executive Director in charge of Operations and Aba Jacqueline Opoku, Deputy Director in charge of Intelligence and Monitoring.  The Executive Secretary to the Directorate and the Special Assistant to the Executive Director were also in attendance.
